How to stop vaping after two years

Long-term use changes the plan. Here's what works when it's been a while.

After two years, vaping isn't one habit — it's fifty small ones. Waking up, driving, breaks, boredom, stress, celebrating. You have to unpick them individually.

Pick a quit date within the next 7 days. Further out and motivation decays; sooner and you skip preparation.

Write the reasons down before you start. In withdrawal your brain will argue convincingly that you never really wanted this. Past-you needs to leave evidence.

Decide on cold turkey vs. stepping down nicotine strength and commit. Both work; switching strategies mid-quit is what fails.

Tell one person. Accountability roughly doubles the odds of getting past the first month for most people — not because they police you, but because relapse stops being invisible.

Put it into practice

Quit Path turns this into a daily routine: coaching morning and night, a craving button for the hard five minutes, and every hour you stay free counted. 7 days free.
